About Me | Research Interests | Influential Thinkers | Important Publications | Journals, Conferences, Organizations | Lexicon
This digital pathfinder is intended to help me get started doing research on learning and teaching STEM with visual representations. These three themes (visual representations, learning, and teaching) are interwoven throughout the pathfinder. In the About Me section, I discuss my journey of becoming a PhD student as well as the rationale for my choice of research topic. The Research Interests section contains my overarching research question, my research abstract, and a selection of research topics and theories of interest. The Influential Thinkers section encompasses both the people who have influenced me personally and professionally as well as the authors who will influence the lens I will be looking through as I journey through the doctoral program. These researchers have written books and articles that are important to my study, and I have included them in the Important Publications section. As a learning scientist, one of my main activities will be reading peer reviewed articles, publishing my findings, and attending conferences to share my research – to this end, I need to be familiar with the Journals, Conferences, and Organizations where I can publish and attend conferences on my topic. Finally, the Lexicon is a section where I can start to organize all the terms and definitions that are important to my research.
